Hello and welcome to my sample page.
I decided to re-design the World Of Warcraft community page because I spend a lot of time playing this game. The existing page looks pretty good, so I modified the materials and created a new page construct in your corporate design to show my ability to work within style guides.
I built the new layout in Photoshop using repeating backgrounds like your designers did as I can see at the existing pages of your company.
Since I am a proud player on side of the horde, I killed the Night Elf background with the purple forest. In order to get more space horizontally I decided to move the menu to the top and realized it with a full cross-browser compatible version in JavaScript. If there are some differences at Internet Explorer 5.5 on Macintosh, please turn a blind eye, I can fix it within a few seconds, but I have no Mac here at the moment. I checked Netscape Navigator 4.7, no problem seen at this problem child, looks pretty good on it. Have a look at my source code; I like a clean programming style.
Although I know that the target group are all players with strong hardware, I broke down the site into an 800 x 600 layout as I normally do (lowest common denominator of visible resolution of all 800 x 600 browsers: 772 x 440), the bottom scrollbars are only displayed because of the logo, the rest is compliant. So, users with small screens do not have to scroll horizontally any more while reading or navigating through the site.
Summing up my work in the portfolio at the bottom of the page I want to give you the chance to get an overview of my versatility in design and coding.
If there are any questions, feel free to contact me. I am at your disposal at any time.
I look forward to hear from you and see you in game.

Yours sincerely,
Thomas Biller
